On this special day, where we remember the support to stop racism, we have to realise racism is not anything but the manifestation of hatred against another human being just because the difference annoys the unconscious mind, which is in suffering and manifesting that suffering through awful actions and behaviours. Racism is not patriotism. Racism is not the “good families” against the “bad ones”. Racism is not “the right way to deal with someone” just because a group of persons has decided it. Racism is racism, and it is the manifestation of hatred through discriminatory acts, and that is clear as crystal. However, we have to observe ourselves to prevent the dissemination of racism. In racism, the jump into conclusions is observing another instead of observing ourselves. The other has everything that we think is not good, while we have everything that is best for any situation. A fabricated illusion restricting our own capability to grow.

The slavery movement is is an event in history where racism was manifested at its highest levels. It was the imprisonment of human beings, forcing them to work and live in awful conditions, supporting the luxury and high standards lifestyles of few. It was an event in history with huge suffering and a lesson we have the duty to forget no more: the violation of human rights of a person should not be justified by anything, specially our silence of embracing discrimination instead of promoting a kind and compassionate environment where such awful behaviours are no more.

An unconscious mind could say: “That behaviour we engage, and the actions we take, are just valid to that one. Everyone else is treated with respect, according to the laws but that one has no rights at all”. An unconscious mind does not realise it is indeed an act of racism. An unconscious mind does not realise to stop racism we have to stop the idea that another person has no rights at all. An unconscious mind does not realise everyone has the same fundamental rights established in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

How we could fight racism? One may ask. We need no fight at all, as what we need is getting conscious about the fact that the moment we observe ourselves to act with kindness and compassion with anyone, no matter who the person in front of us is, it is the moment racism is no more.
