We have a lot to learn from Buddha’s teachings and a lot to discover on our own behind those teachings. We know we have no scientific proof for most of his teachings, which depends on variables we cannot reproduce such as our mind. Mind training is the base of Buddha’s wisdom. Do I have to become a Buddha to walk in this world with clarity of mind and higher consciousness? One may ask. In the search for the answer we could ask ourselves: Do I have to become a Computer Scientist to be able to build a software? Do I have to become a Civil Engineer to be able to build a house? Do I have to become a Professional Football Player to be able to play football? Or do I need consciousness to get the required knowledge to do such things? The moment we get conscious about the answer, it is the moment we get clarity of mind.
According to the book “The Art of Living: Part I and II”, written by the Venerable Master Chin Kung, there are ten sentences capable of summarising Buddha’s teachings:
“True Sincerity towards others,
Purity of Mind within,
Equality in everything we see,
Proper Understanding of life and the universe,
Compassion in helping others in a wise and unconditional way,
See Through to the truth of impermanence,
Let Go of all wandering thoughts and attachments,
Freedom of mind and spirit,
Accord With Conditions to go along with the situation,
Be Mindful of Buddha Amitabha, wishing to reach the Pure Land and follow His Teachings.”
As we can see by reading those simple sentences, consciousness is what bound us all to each other, and to the impermanence of the universe. Consciousness is required to search for the knowledge to see the world as it really is. Consciousness is the ultimate wisdom, the foundation of everything we do during our journey towards the light.
Without consciousness the acquisition of knowledge is extremely difficult. Without consciousness we can easily embrace suffering, the conditioning of life promoted by darkness, the negative energy surrounding us all.
The ultimate message, the sound of the sleeping dragon ready to wake-up inside each one of us is: get ready, get conscious, get prepared to share love and compassion towards others, caring, loving, and living a meaningful life free of negative consequences of suffering.
How could I get ready? How could I find the required strength to get conscious and prepared? One may ask. As we could see with our third eye, the answer is hidden at the same knowledge required to feed our body, the live vessel we use to walk in this world called Earth.
