In a clouded environment, where we cannot clearly see the path we have to follow, it is time to concentrate on the self. However, how could I concentrate on the self, if the things I use from the environment are breaking down? Do I need a lot of money to follow the path of light, supporting all difficulties imposed by the environment itself? One may ask. The answer is not an answer but a reflection: if someone takes away our food, would we search for more food? Or would we start suffering and starving until death knocks our door? The time we realise the answer, it is the time we understand the origin of suffering. It does not mean it would be easy to follow the path of the light. It can be the hardest journey we ever have. However, a meaningful life is always a happy one.
Do not be afraid, it is time to realise we are human beings, and we have our mind power to overcome any challenge presented to us. We can be tortured, being treated in an unfair way, deceived, humiliated, being the target of the most incredible atrocities against human kind. Anything has just the power to change us in a negative way the moment we embrace suffering.
It is easy to say it if we are not experiencing suffering, one may say. It may be easy but the challenge of overcoming suffering remains. It is easy to have money to support a life in a more relaxed way, one may say. It may be easy but the challenge of overcoming suffering remains. It is easy to live a life where we have family to get our back, one may say. It may be easy but the challenge of overcoming suffering remains.
What is the point of repeating the same sentence after any comment exposed? One may ask. Well, what is the point of staying in a state of suffering if life is still there to be lived?
It is with consciousness we understand sometimes we let ourselves down in a state of suffering. It is with consciousness we can understand it is a hard burden to live in an environment full of negativity, with the sensation we are alone in the dark. It is with consciousness we understand the cost of embracing suffering, realising it is a price too high to pay.
The decision, the choice, it is always ours to make. We should ask ourselves: Is it enjoyable to get a better life from the suffering of others? Is it enjoyable to have a wonderful job, with a high income, based on an activity that harms the life of others by any means necessary? Is it enjoyable to play God’s role, putting oneself in a position of deciding what another can or cannot do with his/her life? Are you willing to pay the price of embracing suffering? As I have already said, the decision, the choice, it is always ours to make.
