Suffering is like a child in the kindergarten that we need to watch over. The outside cannot be controlled. The inside has to be observed in order to understand its essence. What we have left is our pure love nature that flourishes the beauty of life all around. The more we try to understand the outside, the less we understand ourselves, as we get concentrated into something that we have no chance to change by our own efforts.

It is clear as crystal that focusing on the outside in order to understand what we may be experiencing within is as good as trying to get fit seated on a chair, while watching our favourite tv series. We are just feeding the illusion that we would get the expected result, but the reality is we are far from that. Actually, we are applying negative conditioning by ourselves, not realising that the more we perform it, the harder it would be to achieve peace of mind.

With consciousness at hand, we have the ability to observe what I like to name as the scale of mind, which we may picture as a conventional scale with two plates. The left plate is what we have within ourselves, which is in essence our love nature. The right place represents the outside, and what we could get from it. When we get a lot of negativity, sometimes we have to deliver the expectation instead of trying to balance the scale at the centre.

The strategy is simple: if we identify the possibility of any action that could harm ourselves or another, and what we observe on the outside expect we get anxious or agitated, we may enrol a bit into such behaviour, stepping consciously into a period of suffering. We have to remember: there is a calculated risk that we may experience more suffering than we have planned. However, such experience is just for a short period of time, which is required to put ourselves outside from a dangerous situation.

Feeding expectations from the outside is not something we apply as a daily practise. It represents only a safety measure applied if, and only if, it does not cause any kind of harm to the self.

We can notice that stepping consciously into a period of suffering makes the scale of mind unbalanced. The heavier the negativity on the right side, the higher is what we have within, which is on the left side. That is the way to use the negative energy of our enemy in our favour. The more we perform our body and mind training to do it, the  more we step into the wheel of our personal evolution, walking towards higher and peaceful states of mind.
