Like the singular sounds of a partiture our life is made of singular moments to be played as part of what we call living. Sometimes we play just the right chord. Sometimes we use a tone that is just a little bit higher than what is required. Sometimes we just play a chord, which is not in compliance with the scene. Sometimes we just remain in silence because there is nothing to say about what we are experiencing. The silence we observe from the outside is wonderful but we have to understand the silence of conditioning. If we use any period of silence in our favour, no matter if it is promoted by ourselves or by the outside, we are able to realise the sight beyond sight about what we have to do to continue playing the right melody for enhancing the self.
We could look around, observe, and understand what the sounds in the surrounding mean to the present moment. We could question the self and the knowledge we have already acquired about different subjects. We could realise while we observe the world around us that we get observed in a different perspective, which makes us understand we can use such an insight in the favour of our mind training.
We are able to remember the differences between the inner and the outer, realising all the events outside the self cannot be controlled by us but utilised in our favour if well observed and understood. That is the raw and pure essence of living: the observation of the self, the enhancement towards inner peace, the walking to the light, and the realisation that darkness is always there attempting to promote chaos, which, in fact, is just a conditioning with the goal of embracing negativity to promote the inner chaos ourselves. The moment such chaos is inside, suffering rises strong.
Conditioning is something we do all the time to enhance our performance. We perform physical training for conditioning our body to keep up with the workload we are able to experience. We perform mind training for conditioning our mind to put in evidence our love nature while facing all the challenges and difficulties life may present to us. If we use conditioning in our favour we get wonderful benefits from it.
The moment we let negative conditioning consume ourselves, implying embracing darkness and negative emotions while facing challenges and difficulties, it is the moment we stop playing the right chord to play something else.
Buddha has already provided a wonderful knowledge about conditioning that says no one could do anything to us without our permission. That knowledge is the essence of what conditioning is, and what it may represent to ourselves while walking our beautiful path. The moment we realise conditioning is present in both dark and light, it is the moment we understand how it can be an ally to benefit the enhancement of the self.
