We have to be energised by our love nature while dealing with different kinds of obnoxious situations, which may escalate regarding the peaceful state we are experiencing in a given moment. The first, and almost easy one, to overcome is depreciative and bad jokes about anything related to the self. Do not get intimidated, frustrated, or disturbed by such jokes. Use them as a motivation to look deep into the self to appreciate what is inside. However, we have to get prepared to defend ourselves, as such jokes may escalate easily to something affecting our live vessel. The moment we realise the negative outcome of any obnoxious experiences is the disturbance of the mind, it is the moment we understand a peaceful mind has to be prepared to stop the actions of a disturbed one, as such actions may cause harm to any life we are aware about in the surroundings.
It is easy to see that a disturbed mind is experiencing a period of suffering, which could be related to anything a person is dealing with in the present moment. Buddha, the enlightened one, has given wonderful teachings about the use of our consciousness to observe, analyse, and understand our own suffering in a way we could diminish the negative outcome related to it, which is kept confined within our own perspective and relativity. Thus, the moment we experience suffering, no matter where, we trigger our consciousness to be the watchdog of the situation, preventing the self from being affected by the negative energy received from the environment, which may be related to the suffering experienced by another.
We have to learn how to walk away safely the moment we receive a direct and negative blow, as another mind experiencing suffering may get the fixed idea to keep coming after us until we embrace a similar state of suffering.
The more we use our consciousness to perform our mind training, enhancing the self to be prepared to face different flavours of obnoxious situations, the more we step towards achieving higher levels of inner peace.
