It is our duty to prepare the meal for the self, which may be whether a delightful experience. If we concentrate on negativity, feeding the self with emotions that only contributes to deteriorating our love nature, we are just embracing suffering, acknowledging a life of spiritual disconnection, which is the true misery we could experience while walking the path of our own life. The moment we realise that we use material values to live our life but they are not essential to establish our true wellness, it is the moment we understand being close to nature is what makes the self powerful to face any negativity we may experience all around.
We may have heard a sentence saying that knowledge represents power, and it is totally true. The knowledge about the self represents the full control of our own mind, allowing the walk towards the path of a meaningful life to become the ruler of the private realm no one has authorisation to enter but ourselves. The wonderful silence we experience when we start ruling our own mind is the experience we obtain while performing our mind training through meditative practises. While in meditation, we are totally concentrated in the task of making the mind empty, free from any thought capable of disturbing the self. After some practise we start to experience a wonderful feeling of relief every time we complete a meditative round.
The moment we start transcending the experience we acquire from meditation to our daily activities, it is the moment we start walking the baby steps for extending our well-being to another level. It is like learning to walk while in childhood. At the beginning, we may experience a lot of drawbacks to keep the right balance. However, the more we practise, the more we are able to understand how to walk properly with the help of no one in the vicinity. We may experience difficulties posed into the environment such as a slipping surface we are walking on, and it is ok; we can survive that if we use our consciousness to deal with the challenge accordingly.
Sometimes I ask the self: What is the hidden secret of Buddha, the enlightened one, that has made him achieve enlightenment? We may answer that question with the joke that Buddha has never met a Psychologist, as we know in actual society that mental states are evaluated by such professionals. However, the true answer is only in the mind of Buddha himself.
The moment we realise achieving peace of mind is a personal and unique journey, it is the moment we understand the need for feeding the self with things close to our love nature.
