The desire of the fool is that everything goes as he/she either wants or plans. Therefore, the mind is not able to face any trouble, or situations involving any kind of violation. The moment we step out of the fool role we understand the importance of peace of mind.

It is clear as crystal that dealing with suffering involves dealing with the unknown, the unexpected scenario we are inserted into, which sometimes presents troubles and violations of "the common law" we are not prepared to face. If we follow the negative conditioning we are subjected to, we step into a period of suffering, culminating in the manifestation of negative emotions towards the self and another. Such manifestation characterises that we have just assumed the role of the fool.

Expecting that everything goes as planned is trying to control what cannot be controlled. The only thing we can control is the self, and that is how we can deal with the uncertainty observed within and on the outside. Manifesting negative emotions triggered by the inability to observe, analyse, and understand what happens within, and in the surroundings, is giving the opportunity to the growth of darkness. Darkness feeds on negative emotions manifested by the fool, justifying with no justification any measure required to tame the fool, the conditioned mind, and any associated outcome that may be produced as result of an observed period of suffering.

Through the use of our own consciousness we can establish a peaceful state of mind, which enables the self to deal with any trouble or violation we have contact with. We may not have enough power to prevent anything generated on the outside to happen, but we have all the power to control how we react to it.

Let us think twice about the following questions: Could we control what someone else thinks about us? Could we control what someone else does with the news of either our success or failure? Could we control what someone else may be gossiping about us? If, for some reason, we answer yes for any of the aforementioned questions, we are experiencing suffering. The only true answer is no, and controlling the self is a way to apply the inversion of control from our own perspective and relativity. By controlling the self, keeping a peaceful state of mind, we may end up in a controlled environment with little or no effort directed to the outside.

The moment we realise how powerful we are when we are the ruler of our own mind, it is the moment we understand how we can stop being a fool.
