When we are on the waters of life, there are, at least, two different perspectives about the self: (1) our own; and (2) another from the outside. The views obtained from both perspectives are different, although they may reach an agreement on similar observations about a given aspect. The important thing is not being conditioned by an outsider’s lens, using consciousness to draw a clear picture about the self and the surroundings, all based on a peaceful state of mind.
Practising our body and mind training is fundamental to enable self-defence manoeuvres when the situation requires it. We still live in a world where injustice, discrimination, and violations of common laws take place, difficulting living a life in society based on meaningful values.
Enrolling into a period of suffering, and accepting restrictions imposed by the outside, which are clearly establishing an illusion of well-being, is just accepting a life in chains. Freedom of everything, including our thoughts, is our right. The moment we let negative conditioning, and suffering itself, dictate the course of our journey, it is the moment we stop thinking and start following predefined assumptions with little or no understanding at all. We become disposable creatures, not capable of making our own decisions.
Being conscious of what happens within and in the surroundings is our duty. Our freedom depends on that. Our capability to surpass our own limits depends on that. Our ability to cultivate the beautiful light we have inside also depends on that.
The moment we realise who we really are, it is the moment we understand the purpose of life, and how such purpose is cultivated within our own perspective and relativity.
