There is a huge misunderstanding when we talk about peace of mind, negative conditioning, connivance, and dealing with suffering. Peace of mind is being able to use consciousness no matter the circumstances. Negative conditioning implies following a belief with little or no understanding. Connivance is knowing something is wrong but doing nothing to deal with it. And finally, dealing with suffering is not allowing the self to step into negative conditioning, connivance, or both.

Let us ask the self: Are we conscious enough to know we have been conditioned? Are we in a peaceful state of mind to recognise we have been following actions promoted by negative conditioning? Can we just ignore someone asking for help if we know the cause is genuine?

In modern society we live in an era dominated by darkness, and negative conditioning all along. People do not want to discuss wrong decisions because everything is part of the chaotic illusion that has been conditioned since ancient times, one stone after the other. Illusions say we have to be harmed and punished if we raise our voice to promote a discussion, which has the goal to answer the whys of a given subject.

Peace of mind is replaced by the negative conditioning of silence, which is associated with the connivance to the observed scene. No one does anything to break the loop of suffering, as punishment comes right away if we do so.

Discrimination affects the minorities, and it seems everything is alright. Children have been abused. Women have been raped. Workers have been assaulted. And what we have to do is nothing, even if it happens right in front of us.

However, if someone tries to break the loop of what has been conditioned, a common enemy arises and needs to be extinguished. That is the tale of the 21th century: “The enemy of my enemy is my friend”.

Well, if we think clearly about such a tale, it makes all sense. Who is our worst enemy? The correct answer is our own suffering. Who is the enemy of our worst enemy? The correct answer is consciousness. And therefore, with consciousness as our friend, all abuses, rapes, assaults, and discriminatory acts could be diminished within our own perspective and relativity, as individuals or united nations.

Unfortunately, we live in an illusion where our own suffering is not considered our worst enemy but our best friend. If we experience no suffering, we are hunted until we experience, at least, a bit of it. If we cultivate peaceful states of mind, nurturing the beautiful light we have inside, we are considered exotic. If we pay attention to a genuine request for help, we are on the wrong side. And when we talk about it, mainly using a space and time created for it, we must be quiet and follow the negative conditioning the majority is following.

Recognising what is wrong is important. Making our part to promote discussions about how to deal with children abuse, women rapes, and discrimination is fundamental. However, we have to be prepared to deal with our own suffering the moment we realise negative conditioning has made people put aside consciousness and reasoning in exchange of following a view, an action, a belief.

The moment we realise walking the path towards a meaningful life in the middle of modern society requires bravery, it is the moment we understand why peace of mind is so important.
