To be on the right balance is something crucial in the activity of surfing. So it is to achieve inner balance, self-respect and inner peace. Surfists achieve the right balance by training; by repetition. We achieve the right balance by the same means.
When we see a balanced person within an awful situation, we may think that person has something special. We may think we have some problems. We may think about what is the secret of that person? The answer is training and repetition, which lead to self-conditioning.
There is no magic pill to achieve inner balance, self-respect and inner peace. The only way is by training and repetition. It is a lifetime commitment.
The universe is impermanent and we have to be in constant training to be able to deal with unexpected situations.
On the path to achieve inner balance, we have ups and downs; that is normal. Noone has been born with the capability to walk right after get out from a mother's belly. We have to believe in ourselves and be grateful. We have to be conscious about our needs of improvement in different aspects of life. Without consciousness, training and repetition are almost useless. Patience is a key factor, and it is good as gold to achieve full consciousness.
On the road of inner balance, love, kindness, and compassion are essential tools to keep a happy and positive attitude.
As Adriene from Yoga with Adriene says in some of her videos: "If you fall, we will catch you". We need to understand one important thing: when we fall, it is our duty to get up and, if we have help, to stand out our hands in order to be lifted.
