In all situations we experience in life we can choose to have hope or despair. It is our choice and noone is able to control that choice without our permission.

Suffering comes hand-to-hand with despair. Despair makes a person to embrace negativity and to experience sadness and sorrow, which implies to see the life with one or no colour. The world gets a dark place to live and, in the presence of deception, a person may fall into a negative path, which may be very difficult to recover. In a practical sense, a person that embraces despair has no strategy to deal with difficulties life presents in a day-to-day basis, or the strategy is dependent on the outside, which may cause frustration to seek help that never comes.

With hope the posture is quite the opposite. The world is always in a coloured mode, and we find happiness in small things, even if we walk alone. Deception don't put we down, as we always have a backup plan within layers of strategies adapted to the different difficulties we may face in a day-to-day basis. We start to smile more and to see the difficulties not in a negative perspective but in a positive one. Difficulties transform themselves into opportunities to perform both mind and body training. A training required to face bigger threats life may present to us. A training to prepare ourselves to deal with anything, anytime, from anyone or anywhere. That is what hope does. We always believe we are able to succeed, and to believe is the first step to succeed.

You have the power to make the choice between hope and despair. Remember: with great power comes great responsibility.
