Life is a solo race, in which the only adversary we have is the self. If, by any luck, we get to race beside another source of light, i.e. another beautiful soul, each one of us has to be able to enhance individually, even when supporting each other during the journey. As his holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama is used to saying: "our enemy is our best teacher". The worst enemy we have is our own suffering, and therefore we need to keep suffering as close as possible to us, preventing its manifestation to the outside. The more close we get to our own suffering, the more confined it is, and the easier suffering gets diminished and superseded by love and its associated peaceful state of mind.
Sometimes we have to deal with challenges and difficulties coming from the outside, and it is not an easy task to accomplish. However, it gets even worse when we let negativity corrupt the self from the inside out, increasing the magnitude of anything we are facing. As a consequence, we acquire the understanding that our worst enemy is our own suffering.
It is much more difficult to face or do anything if we keep putting the self down, feeding negative thoughts, and the negative conditioning that says we are not enough for the task. Actually, we are, and no matter how challenging or difficult the task we are up to is, we can deal with it properly and through a positive attitude. The moment we realise that, it is the moment we understand everything that seems to be impossible becomes possible.
Let us remember the unlimited power we have inside, and how resourceful we are while keeping consciousness at hand. Suffering, our worst enemy, gets closer and at a distance we can deal with it properly. The smaller our suffering is, the bigger is our resilience against darkness and its associated dark intelligence, implying the cultivation and nurturing of love, life, and anything aligned with our own nature.
