When we listen to his holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama, saying Western Psychology is at kindergarten level, and we experience life within a western country, we understand the message his holiness is trying to disseminate. It is clear as crystal we need more non-judgemental attitude, kindness, compassion, and actions close to our love nature, enabling the self to recognise the need for mind training, preventing the application of the kindergarten protocol with rules of poking, provocation, and silence at stressful situations. The moment we realise we have the power in our hands to stop the use of such protocol, it is the moment we understand our contribution starts in not enrolling in negative behaviours, and learning how to defend the self against physical escalation, instead of stepping into a period of suffering with thoughts of retaliation.
The moment provocation steps into our personal space, we have the choice of using our consciousness to prevent the unconscious mind from getting into the driver's seat, which may imply enrolling into actions associated with the kindergarten protocol of poking, provocation, and silence at stressful situations. Step by step, acquiring knowledge from education and our own experiences, we can recognise the presence of such protocol within our daily life, taking such recognition as an opportunity to practise our mind training, and diminishing the negative energy that could be generated by the suffering associated with the experienced situation.
The lack of resources we may have at hand can be transformed into a huge, and unlimited source of ideas to our consciousness, if used in our favour through wisdom. Unfortunately, mind training alone is not enough to face obnoxious situations we may have contact with, as we could not predict scenes when a mind in suffering may escalate the provocation to physical level, where we need to defend the self, and sometimes someone else, by holding on the manifestation of suffering from another until we can get away safely.
Step by step, achieving higher levels of peace of mind represents experiencing less and less the negative effects of a period of suffering. We observe, analyse, and understand the only action we can always enrol in is the enhancement of the self. By getting aware about that, we perform a big step towards the path of a meaningful life, and the cultivation and care of our love nature.
