Do not give up in the face of awful situations, deception, or discrimination. There are people in the world who do not have fairness or honour in their dictionary. It is their problem not ours. Gautama Buddha has been followed by his disciples, who have offered him the sense of community (संघ Sangha in Sanskrit), protection, and the opportunity to give his teachings while travelling among villages. There are tales about insults and gossip proffered against him and his teachings. He didn’t give up, even facing so much negativity and so many obnoxious people during his life path. We should do the same. People talk, gossip spread fast, insults come and go. However, life is precious and we should not throw it away. As Gautama Buddha, we should let people talk and use the negativity around as a fuel to boost our inner strength and beautiful light.

Imagine if Gautama Buddha has travelled alone through all the villages he has passed, while giving his teachings. What could have happened to him if he was totally on his own, with no disciples to share the experience with him? Without the World Wide Web, and the advanced technology available, do you think we could have access to his teachings the same way we have access at the present moment? Do you think we would know his name, his history, his legacy? Think about that.

In my own insignificance there is a lesson I have learned from my short lifetime, which may serve you as a guidance of reflection. Life is impermanent, and all the events happening during our existence have the same characteristic. Unfortunately, there are people who have the motivation to play with others, with the goal to make a person feel miserable, in the attempt that such person will do the same to others in the future. In that conditioned game, we lose every single time our inner peace is disturbed, and it may cause manifestations of anger to come out. Do we need to think it is the end of the world? Not even close. It is, moment after moment, situation after situation, an opportunity of learning and understanding.

Do we win something if we end our life motivated by a state of suffering? The answer is no. Could we expect fairness and honour from a person whom wants to take us down by any means necessary? The answer is no. Everyone has knowledge about what is happening in the surroundings and behind the scenes of our life? The answer is no. Do we know what is happening in the surroundings? The answer is yes, if we enhance our consciousness.

It is all about us. It is about our own perception. It is about what we feel and how we could improve the self to become a better version, in an endless cycle of many lifetimes. The moment we realise our power is within our conscious mind, it is the moment we see the impermanence of the universe, and the relationship with everything we experience.
