Descendants of slavery; people; human beings. Descendants of slavery share the same rights anyone else does. The ancestrals have suffered a lot in the hands of whom value money, possessions, pieces of paper, more than human lives. No money can pay the suffering of a human being, the humiliation, the unfair treatment, the injustice practised. Equal access to education, justice, job opportunities, to be part of the community, and not a puppet for social experiences similar to experiences the ancestrals have been part of, that is what any person deserves.
Discrimination. The word that comes automatically to the mind when we talk about anything related to slavery. To deal with discrimination is to perform a daily practise of love and compassion. It is the adjustment of a reactive response system to a proactive one. It is the adjustment to reassure violence solves nothing, and love lights everything.
It's so funny to laugh about a homeless person or a cleaning lady. They are nothing, it is what we hear. They are slaves whom have to be grateful to serve us, and to please us for our own entertainment. They are the human material of our social experiences and never more. The representation of an old wrong thought is what it is. The representation of impunity, which comes together with the sense that possession of money can justify anything, and the lack of money is a reasonable reason for crucifixion. Jesus Christ was not a noble man, history says.
Buddha was a noble man whom has abdicated from all luxuries he has had access to. He was in the middle of the people, living around the slaves and the poor to be able to understand suffering. Jesus Christ was not a noble man but he was able to understand the suffering, in a different place and period of time.
Buddha and Jesus share the dissemination of love and compassion, which has nothing to do with the practise of slavery, or acts of humiliation and deception of the population.
We don’t need revolutions, protests, or even war. What is the fight about? Why do we need to fight for rights anyone deserves? If we start in a wrong way, and continue to walk the wrong path of self-destruction, the end is easy to predict.
Silence the negativity inside, and put voice to the nature of love. The act of non act, which implies to stop the dissemination and practise of discrimination, is much more effective than any movement ever imagined. It is what we need to reach an equal society.
