What a mind in suffering is capable of doing is unimaginable, as much as it is what a conscious mind motivated to cultivate and spread love all around can do. We have to think like a writer, always analysing what we think, and understanding the consequences of what we do, speak, and therefore write to the public. The exercise is simple: Can we write to a piece of paper shared to the public, or in an electronic document with the same purpose, what we are speaking consciously? If the answer is yes, with no hesitation, what we are saying is genuine, as there is no reason to be afraid of writing it to the public. If, otherwise, we cannot write publicly what we are saying in private, it is a clear indication of one of the following: (1) we are speaking a genuine word, sentence, or message not to be shared; (2) we are speaking in an environment with restrictions and violations of human rights, or (3) what we are saying is not genuine, implying harm to the self and others. The more we do such an exercise, the more we understand the value and magnitude of life, love, knowledge, intelligence, and wisdom.

Can you write what you are saying? That is the question we can use to face an obnoxious person when the situation does not allow us to be in silence. It is the trigger trying to reach the consciousness of another, making a person think about what she/he has just said. We all are prone to experience a period of suffering, and by doing that, sometimes we speak things we would not like to. If we are in a conversation with another person experiencing a period of suffering, the consequences can be extremely deteriorating to the self. That is why we need to perform our mind training in order to keep consciousness at hand, no matter the circumstances.

Doing the exercise of thinking like a writer helps a lot to understand our own suffering, understanding also the environment we live in and recognising the challenges and difficulties we have to face during our daily activities.

The moment we realise how to tame our unconscious mind, usually called monkey mind, it is the moment we understand we can write anything that is beneficial to the self and others, no matter the circumstances.
