Besides life, what is the most valuable treasure we can acquire, most of the time free of charge? If you are thinking about illusory things like money, or physically measurable things like land, your answer is wrong. We cannot fabricate or measure the exact value of money, or use the land we have at hand properly, if we possess no knowledge. With no knowledge we become puppets in the hands of those who possess it and, unfortunately, are experiencing a period of suffering. Knowledge represents freedom and power to a conscious mind, at the same time that represents slavery and power to an unconscious counterpart. A person with both consciousness and knowledge at hand  is a person that is a slave to no one, including not being a slave to suffering itself.

Do you imagine yourself being a slave, obeying another instead of following right, reasonable, meaningful, and inspiring explanations and demonstrations of knowledge as a free person? I have never imagined being a slave to no one, and that is why I have started to perform body and mind training to not become a slave even to my own suffering. Besides life, that is the reason I, personally, put more value in knowledge than anything else.

In the foundation I have established to guide myself through the path of a meaningful life, a person is rich if knowledge is what such a person possesses, but even the possession of a huge amount of knowledge does not make the right to earn special treatment in favour of another life. No matter what, as his holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama is used to saying, we are equals, we are the same.

The moment we have contact with deception, injustice, unfairness, manipulation, or even dirty politics, it is the moment a picture of those old slavery times comes to mind. If we seek not to acquire knowledge, we can notice nothing happening in the present moment, which leads us to a deep period of suffering where the illusions we have contact with become part of our own fabricated reality. Dependency on the outside transforms itself into the right thing to expect, and frustration results in something to be used to. We need to break such a loop of suffering by waking up to see the surroundings through our third eye, using consciousness and acquisition of knowledge as pillars of our established and meaningful foundation.

The moment we realise and recognise the true value of both life and knowledge, it is the moment we understand why, what, and how making the decision to walk the path towards a meaningful life.
