The imitation game. A child imitates what an adult does in the vicinity, believing that it is right to do such a thing, even if that child has no idea of what the action is. The moment we let our unconscious mind become the driver of our own life, we are actually assuming the same posture of the child: following blindly something provided by the outside. For a mind in suffering trying to rule the scene, the child's posture is required. However, the ones who keep consciousness at hand know that the impermanence of the universe just needs one opportunity to diminish the illusions we have contact with, transforming a chaotic scene into something magical, joyful, and meaningful.
The child's posture is something we have to prevent our mind from assuming. There is no benefit to blindly follow anything from the outside, becoming dependent on either another or the environment we are inserted into. Being aware and conscious of the periods we may step into suffering is essential to keep our unconscious mind tamed, diminishing the influence of the negative conditioning we have contact with.
We need to establish a strategy of self-enhancement, performing our body and mind training in a way that we get prepared to anything, knowing that, in the majority of the time, we have just one opportunity in the present moment to either step into a period of suffering or diminishing what is trying to cause it. Just one chance that needs patience, peace of mind, wisdom, and the right action to be used in a meaningful way.
The idea of getting prepared no matter the circumstances has nothing to do with grasping the desire for a given opportunity to act. That grasping behaviour is also suffering. What a conscious mind does is getting ready to recognise the opening, keeping a peaceful state of mind, and using as best as we can the entrance to diminish any trace of darkness from our own perspective and relativity.
The moment we realise that performing our body and mind training is the path for self-enhancement, it is the moment we understand the magnitude of benefits that such a path brings to our life journey.
