When time is something we have concern about, time becomes something we have to make the most of. By paying attention to time we may realise that, no matter how fast or slow we do something, the passage of time would feel almost the same for a conscious mind. The illusion of being faster or slower is a trap of the mind, which may cause pleasure or frustration associated with the task we have at hand. Therefore, dealing with the expectations is dealing with what the self is able to learn from the experience we have in the present moment. Time may dictate a way to account for a moment, but a conscious moment is what makes the passage of time the most of it.
Consciousness is the tool we have at hand to make the most of the time available to perform a given task we need to. It is by using our consciousness that we become aware of the difficulties and challenges we need to face, which may try to disturb what we are doing in the present moment. The disturbance is what we may observe in the result we are producing, but the source could be out of our control, requiring the practise of our body and mind training focused to adaptation.
Adaption is a resource our consciousness may use to cope with things on the outside we have contact with. Adapting to the outside is not following what we are facing in an unconscious, and conditioned way. Adaptation means understanding the expected outcome, and producing a result that is beneficial to the self no matter the circumstances.
Buddha, the enlightened one, has used consciousness to understand his own suffering, adapting himself to the conditions of the world in the time he was inserted into. Buddha has understood that being royal, or having access to an almost unlimited source of resources, are not requirements to step into our personal evolution, and understanding anything our mind has contact with. Actually, it is by being conscious about what a material value is that we are able to differentiate, and put more value to life than anything else we may have at hand.
The lack of time may establish an illusion we need to possess a material value the most, but the consciousness of the moment makes us understand that life cannot be replaced by any resource we put more value to in the present moment.
