What does define the meaning of being obnoxious? By the essence of the word, the true meaning of obnoxious is a behaviour against our love nature. By the negative conditioning perspective, obnoxious is any behaviour out of what has been conditioned, and expected. The negative conditioning drives the expectations of the outside to meet a standard, a pattern, a right or wrong way to communicate something. There is no such way if we are conscious about not stepping out of our love nature. We expect Buddha, Jesus Christ, Krishna, or any other important figure to behave in a certain way. That is what negative conditioning does. Being not aside from our love nature is what all of those figures have disseminated through their light. Nothing more, nothing less.

When we get deep into the observation and reasoning concerning the meaning of the word obnoxious, it is almost impossible to not relate such a word to the negative conditioning we have contact with. Every different culture has a specific idea about what an obnoxious behaviour is in a given scenario. What in some cultures could be considered totally "normal", in others may represent a severe "insult" of the principles being followed. We are in the middle of the experience of negative conditioning, where the expectation is dictating the way we behave and respond to events observed on the outside. We let consciousness aside, and are guided by our unconscious mind, and the stimuli we have contact with. In essence, that is nothing more than a period of suffering itself we have been following from a very long time.

What Buddha, the enlightened one, disseminates through his teachings about being non-judgemental matches the true meaning of the word obnoxious, and the idea representing a behaviour aside from our love nature. Being non-judgemental is not the absence of performing any judgement about a situation we experience, but not letting such judgement deviates our behaviour outside of our love nature. We can be tough and solid with no intention or desire to harm another, preventing the self from stepping into a period of suffering all along.

Putting the self aside from negative conditioning is recognising that events on the outside may be dictated by expectations, while what we cultivate inside has no business with it.
