The search of wisdom is not actually a search but a revelation of something that is already there but we are not conscious enough to see it clearly before our third eye. Almost all the situations when we are facing darkness in the present moment depend on our ability to see the truth instead of embracing the negative conditioning we are subjected to. What is being obnoxious? If we answer that question with a simple sentence that says being obnoxious is behaving in a way not aligned with our love nature, we may end up with another simple yet fundamental question: What is being aligned with our love nature? When we think about the questions and answers related to the life journey we are just experiencing, we reach the understanding that almost everything can be distorted and manipulated through wrong motivations and intentions. Are we living an illusion? The answer depends on how conscious we are of seeing the truth before our third eye.
If we start thinking about the idea of experiencing life as an illusory journey where anything we have contact with is not really what they seem to be, we reach a huge dilemma: what is the purpose of everything we are experiencing? Finding out the truth cannot be as pleasurable as eating our favourite meal during Christmas time. On the contrary, it can put down all the foundations we have established as part of building the self and living a life in the present moment, which a mind in suffering can use as motivation to embrace negativity in a deeper way. Therefore, knowing the truth is not the real problem we have to deal with but what we do after acquiring that priceless piece of knowledge is.
The moment we realise the truth behind all we are experiencing, it is the moment we reach (again) a dilemma: How many people know about it? Who are those people? Seeking the answers to all the aforementioned questions implies achieving the understanding that says we can step out of our own suffering and illusions we may have contact with, but the illusions that are not fabricated by our own mind may rest forever in the environment we are inserted into if the majority believe—with little or no understanding—on what have been presented before their naked eyes.
The expression that says things are not what they seem to be represents exactly the illusory idea of experiencing something different from what is really happening in the present moment. The verb used is seem (with m) because it is not only what we observe through our naked eyes but also what we experience and feel through all our other senses. Sometimes a coincidence is not a coincidence. Sometimes a sequence of events that are aligned with almost no gaps was just a coincidence instead of either a plot or fabrication. Who knows. Attaining the right discernment of anything we experience in the present moment is part of the duty of keeping consciousness at hand no matter the circumstances. That is why knowledge is power, and as the fictional character Peter Parker, we also know that with great powers come great responsibilities.
Prior to advancing and performing any action, we have to think if we can prove what we are observing, and most importantly, if we can justify the action we are performing in a conscious and meaningful way. Let’s remember that if things we have a proof of can be distorted and manipulated, influencing unconscious minds to believe with little or no understanding in that distortion, let’s imagine what can be done with something we have no proof of.
The moment we realise how to keep consciousness at hand no matter the circumstances, it is the moment we understand that nothing is what it seems to be until we have a proof characterising clearly what we are both observing and experiencing. Until getting that proof and attaining a deeper understanding, anything becomes just speculations we use as support to walk the path towards a meaningful life with the goal of attaining enlightenment.
