When we are practising it may seem we are not aware of what happens in the surroundings, as we get focused on achieving the goal proposed by our training. It is true for the very moment we are performing an action towards the proposed goal. However, we have to be aware of what happens in the surroundings in order to drive our training and adapt our strategies according to the environmental conditions we observe in the present moment, considering that the presence of such conditions may affect our achievements. That is application of knowledge, using both intelligence and wisdom.

Do not let the entrance of a new environment put any fear on the self, being afraid of the unknown and the uncertainty we may face in the scene we are part of. The unknown can be seen as a wonderful source of knowledge, implying an entrance to discoveries that we could not be aware of by keeping the self in a conditioned, and therefore suffering state. The action we have to perform, the balance we need to achieve, the peaceful state of mind required to walk the path towards a meaningful life, everything counts when we are exploring a new terrain. And for exploring we need our consciousness the most.

We need to observe the outside not in a perspective of reproducing something we find as right in a conditioned and unconscious way but trying to achieve the understanding to answer the associated whys. The moment we start answering the whys, it is the moment we understand the details of what we are observing, including the flaws masqueraded by the illusions we have contact with.

As a consequence, being intelligent means understanding the whys and being wise represents the wonderful capability of applying the acquired knowledge to another context within our own perspective and relativity.
