Any time becomes an opportunity to learn something new and practise everything we have already learned until the present moment. We can cultivate peace of mind no matter the circumstances. We are able to observe, analyse, and understand the presence of negative energy in the surroundings. We live our own life instead of looking to the outside in an attempt to find something more interesting than our own perspective and relativity. We learn to not be dependent on our emotions, which is a fundamental step to keep consciousness at hand, and the self in the path of a meaningful life. When suffering comes we are ready, and the moment darkness reaches we are prepared.

Dealing with negativity is extremely related to the wonderful teaching that Buddha, the enlightened one, has provided about the need of not accepting any gift charged with negative energy that someone else is trying to give us, sometimes with no apparent reason. We have to keep consciousness at hand because we know that there is no free lunch.

Buddha has explained that if someone tries to give us a gift and we do not accept it, the gift remains in the possession of that person. Thus, the same happens for any kind of negative energy any person is trying to transfer to us, which requires our permission to get deep into the self, causing therefore disturbances into a peaceful state of mind that has already already achieved.

Sometimes people use high technology combined with the motivation to harm another, which is an awful but possible scenario to think of. When we are in a position where we become the target of such huge amount of negativity, being not able to diminish the power such technology may have to disturb the cells in our body, e.g., through a huge burst of electromagnetic radiation, the only option available is stepping into our personal evolution. We need to distance the self from suffering by increasing our capability to be resilient to the amount of negative energy we have contact with.

The moment we realise that achieving peace of mind is the foundation to be resilient against darkness, it is the moment we understand that happiness is the lunch we are cultivating on our own.
