Making plans for the future expecting that everything would fit and happen exactly as we wish is a big mistake, an illusion that may lead to huge periods of suffering and frustration. Making plans is indeed important yet we need to make room for the impermanence of the universe, being ready for dealing with the unknown, mainly when observing dishonoured, dishonest, and deceptive behaviours and people in the surroundings. We need to get prepared for the unexpected, as well as for changing our course of actions according to what we get to observe in the present moment. The more we incorporate such an adaptive mindset, the easier it’s to face and deal with anything aside from our love nature.
It’s a matter of strategy. Dealing with the negative consequences of dishonour, dishonesty, and deception requires an adaptive strategy that needs to be applied, adjusted, re-evaluated, and most of the time, changed to accommodate the differences, nuances, and specificities of every environment, situation, and scene we get to be part of. The essence of the issues we need to deal with are almost the same, although the dynamics and the sequence of events and situations may vary, making every single challenge unique and with the power to give us priceless pieces of knowledge.
The concept of strategy lies in the ability to observe and draw the game being played in the present moment, which implies us to decide what to do in the present moment. Nothing is what seems to be, and everything is what needs to be. The philosophy of the game, and the knowledge required to understand its organisation is what has the power to drive the majority of people mad. However, keeping consciousness at hand and understanding the situation gives us an advantage: experiencing periods of suffering start to get less and less painful.
Walking the path towards a meaningful life, and stepping into higher stages of our personal evolution, make us develop our intrinsic ability of understanding our own suffering, extracting priceless pieces of knowledge that makes it soft. It’s like finding out how to attenuate the push the gravity force makes on our body, which enables us to move faster and safer using either the same or less energy for doing so.
Adaptation is the key concept. Let’s get it right instead of accepting anything that gets imposed. The moment we realise that, it’s the moment we understand the principles of what make us super, special, and unique.
