In the middle of our daily activities, while facing many challenges and difficulties posed by both the situation and the scenario we’re facing, it’s important to make progress, even if negative criticism disregards or attempts to make us feel it isn’t good enough. The scale we need to use to realise and understand what’s good enough is only available if we keep consciousness at hand, taking into account all variables present in the environment we’re inserted into that aren’t clearly identified by an outsider, an external observer who hasn’t all the information at hand to make such a negative statement valid. It’s also crystal clear that negative criticism as an attempt either to demoralise or deteriorate the life of someone else comes from a period of suffering being experienced, mainly related to a distorted feeling of superiority, accepting and acknowledging no progress performed by a sentient being considered inferior. Thus, the more we keep consciousness at hand no matter the circumstances, the more we value making progress towards either big or small steps.
Let’s keep moving, realising and understanding that the great challenges and difficulties we need to face and deal with aren’t derived from the issue we’re attempting to solve but the negative charges and pressure we get under in the environment we’re inserted into. When we find a suitable strategy to deal with such huge amount of negativity, we start observing, analysing, and understanding the situation before us from a distinguished, and therefore, unique perspective, taking also into account the eager desire of dishonoured, dishonest, and deceptive people to see us fail in order to take and make our progress on the eyes of others as it was their own.
It was extremely common to observe such a negative behaviour in middle age monarchies and societies, mainly in reigns where the aristocracy was constantly plotting against the king or queen in order to take the throne, putting someone functioning as a puppet in their hands as a replacement, and eliminating also anyone supporting the same values carried on by that king or queen being prosecuted. Nowadays (year 2026) it’s the same, although plots, deceptions, and negative actions get performed on a daily basis against anyone posing a threat to the tyranny we observe in different countries and continents.
The more we realise we’re equals, and therefore, we’re the same, as his holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama, also emphasises in his public appearances and discourses, the better we understand embracing darkness as the way of life isn’t the right decision to make, no matter the circumstances.
Let’s keep doing our best and making progress while walking the path towards a meaningful life.
