If we acquire a suitable level of consciousness to see where we would like to head towards, we need to understand who we really are in order to start paying more attention to the challenges and difficulties we’re subjected to in the environment we’re inserted into. Disregarding such imposed and usually deceptive drawbacks, and getting no preparation for facing and dealing with their negative consequences, can be considered a heavy weight we carry on our shoulders without noticing the lack of consciousness in the present moment is weakening us and making such an imposed weight even heavier. The moment we keep consciousness at hand to clearly pay attention to what really happens in the surroundings, it’s the moment we understand that getting prepared for the unknown is being able to deal with any challenge or difficulty before us in a conscious and meaningful way, also understanding that if the weight of the imposed challenges and difficulties are seen by an external observer as heavy, the solution is quite simple: we just need to get smarter and stronger, i.e., getting more educated and well-prepared to deal with anything that—besides our intellectual—also requires the power of our physical strength.
It’s important that we acquire the clarity of mind required to understand what really happens in the present moment. If we continue to pay little or no attention to the challenges and difficulties we’re subjected to in the environment we’re inserted into, we would never be able to realise and understand the origins of the negative consequences of those impositions we’ve to deal with during our life journey. If we like to picture things in order to attain a better understanding of them, paying little or no attention to what happens in the surroundings is like having a heavy iron sphere attached to our body, implying that we’re making effort to move forward but getting injuries derived from our current way and lack of preparation and posture to deal with the presence of such a sphere we need to unconsciously carry in the present moment. As a consequence, we need to pay attention to that sphere, performing our body and mind training to acquire the suitable form and means to cut that attachment off, and therefore, using that sphere just as a training asset in order to get stronger.
The moment we realise that cutting off that attachment is a way of trespassing our own limits, it’s the moment we understand that no matter who we are, keeping consciousness at hand is always the right choice to head towards the path of a meaningful life without any fear of what we need to face and deal with.
