It is not always that we can see clearly, even through our naked eyes, the threats we are dealing with in the present moment. The majority of the time they are mixed with fabricated illusions we have contact with, hidden or masked as something or someone in the surroundings. If we are experiencing suffering, we become hunters of the aforementioned threats. However, instead of identifying the threats to hunt them, we can do the same to understand that no negativity generated from the outside is able to enter the self without our own permission.

We need to understand our worst enemy to be able to understand the self. That is why it is extremely important to understand our own suffering, which gives us priceless pieces of knowledge utilised by the self to build a strong shield to face darkness, its associated negative conditioning, and hatred culture itself.

Māra, the evil entity prosecuting Buddha—the enlightened one—during his journey to understand his own suffering and attaining enlightenment, characterises the essence of evil’s mind we see in darkness. Environments where life is treated as a disposal thing. The glorification of luxury. The use of financial resources and personnel to enslave people. All negativity we see in the environment we are inserted into is there for a long time, i.e., the observation of the aforementioned evil’s manipulations is ancient.

Our past generations have faced variations of the threats we face in the present moment. The difference is how those threats can be faced, as the common laws have changed a lot throughout centuries.

Let us ask the self: what does bother ourselves the most in the environment we are inserted into? If we already know the answer to that question, we know what we have to identify, and how we can use such identification to draw a suitable strategy to perform our body and mind training. We need to be resilient to what disturbs our inner peace, and we can only achieve a proper resilience to something we know exactly how to identify and recognise.

Instead of getting disturbed by things we cannot control, let us get resilient to them, establish a strong and wise posture to face them when needed, and be prepared to deal with anything, anywhere, and in any circumstance.

The moment we learn how to identify and recognise clearly the threats we are dealing with, it is the moment we understand how to perform our body and mind to strengthen and harden the self in order to tap into the unlimited power we have inside.
