When we seek refuge in a place where we can stay isolated from society itself, it is not because we are afraid of what we are experiencing. The isolation has the clear purpose to accelerate and boost the achievement of higher levels of peace of mind, increasing, strengthening, and hardening the connection between body and mind. We get stronger in a conscious way, cultivating and nurturing a kind, compassionate, and non-judgemental attitude towards the self and others. If, by any means or circumstances, we are not able to isolate ourselves from society, it is ok too. The environment can help accelerate the process but it is the mind that does all the work. Therefore, no matter where we are, keeping consciousness at hand and performing our body and mind training are enough to achieve higher levels of peace of mind, stepping into the path towards a meaningful life.
Peace of mind. An astonishing state that makes us use our intelligence and wisdom to face anything life presents to us. Keeping the mind at peace enables us to draw solutions to any challenge or difficulty we are dealing with, allowing the self to face darkness no matter the circumstances.
A peaceful state of mind does not represent inertia. On the contrary, it represents balance when making decisions and performing actions that affect the self and the environment we are inserted into, in which the results can be seen by another. We have the capability to keep the mind at peace in every situation that we deal with obnoxious, unfair, dishonoured, or harsh behaviours. We usually associate silence to a mind at peace but it is not always the case. A mind at peace is also able to speak and perform actions. The difference to a troubled one is that every speech and action is performed in a conscious way, even when it does not seem to be what is observed from an external perspective.
The moment we realise that we are the only one able to know, observe, and recognise our peaceful state of mind, it is the moment we understand how powerful we are against darkness, and how kind, compassionate, and non-judgemental we can be while walking the path towards a meaningful life.
