The tip of the iceberg. Sometimes what we are observing in the present moment is just the tip of a huge iceberg we have to deal with, and realising that may be scary. In order to deal with the period of suffering that may be caused by the impact of being aware and awake to see the reality through our third eye without losing our mind, we need to be in a peaceful state. Darkness may be huge and strong but our conscious mind is resilient and stronger. No matter the circumstances, we are more powerful than we think we are, and we can step out of anything we are experiencing, including our own suffering.
The illusion associated with the negative effect to realise the tip of the iceberg is the only thing we have to deal with may be intimidating. That is a huge illusion we have to diminish by keeping consciousness at hand. There is nothing, absolutely nothing, that has the power to put our consciousness down without our own permission. It means there is nothing we cannot deal with through a conscious, kind, compassionate, and meaningful attitude.
The huge problem is not the magnitude of what we are facing but the negative attitude we may incorporate while dealing with it. Stepping into a period of suffering, and incorporating a negative conditioning that says we cannot, or that says to give up to prevent facing challenges or difficulties, are what we have to avoid. If what we are facing is huge, focus is what we need.
Let us think of our own suffering as an infinite glass wall with a thick depth. At first, it seems almost impossible to get through it. Climbing, or trying to go around, seem to be not good ideas because the wall has no end. Breaking it is scary because we may think about the need for huge effort and tools to do it. Most of the time the wall is just an illusion that our consciousness have to be aware of. Therefore, we just need to walk through it with no hesitation to pass through it.
In rare conditions, our suffering is accompanied with external challenges and difficulties we need to get through. As a consequence, we have to keep consciousness at hand, with our mind focused and at peace, to be able to realise and understand we do not need to address the entire wall at once. What we need is to focus on a very specific point and hit it as hard as we can until we open a hole through the wall to vanish that small part of suffering, diminishing the resistance of the whole illusion we are dealing with.
The moment we realise where the central point related to our own suffering is, it is the moment we understand that addressing and hitting it as hard as we can makes the huge wall before us break down and disappear as easily as a small and thin piece of glass we may have at hand.
