Patience is a quality we need to develop in order to achieve higher levels of peace of mind. Being patient to find a solution to a challenge or difficulty we are facing in the present moment is essential to our personal evolution. Sometimes we know what we need to do, we know the solution we are looking for, but the current configuration of the universe and environment we are inserted into does not allow us to put in practice the intended solution. If we step into a period of suffering, acting unconsciously, and letting the negative emotions and conditioning dominate the self, we achieve more suffering only. The ability to keep strengthening and sharpening the body and mind, while defending the self from darkness and its associated negative conditioning, is one of the best exercises for enhancing the quality of being patient during our life journey.
Patience is the result of being awake, aware, and conscious of what is happening within, and in the surroundings. Being patient does not mean being quiet or innate to what is happening in the present moment. It is, instead, a quality of choosing the suitable moment to do something related to what has been observed, analysed, and understood from our own perspective and relativity.
Patience is sometimes associated with cold, while the movement of performing the action gets associated with heat. We need both, cold and heat, in order to use patience in a wise and meaningful way. Waiting for the right moment peacefully, and patiently, requires also the ability to get into action the moment a given configuration we are waiting for is presented to us.
The moment we realise that developing the ability of heating and freezing the self, at balance and according to the circumstances we are facing, is essential to face darkness, it is the moment we understand that balance requires mastering both cold and heat.
