It’s easier to realise and understand what really happens in the present moment when we keep consciousness at hand no matter the circumstances. The real deal is attaining peace of mind when fully understanding the difference of what we know and what the outside is able to experience and see from an external perspective. As an example we can use the war between Russia and Ukraine. We would never know what is really happening there, not even when we receive news from reliable sources. The reason is simple: we aren’t there, and we aren’t experiencing what Ukrainians, mainly the ones with no means of leaving the conflict zones, are experiencing. The atrocities we get to know may be a tiny fraction of the number and magnitude of atrocities that may be happening. Thus, as a consequence of keeping consciousness at hand, we need to learn how to observe, analyse, and understand anything on our own, believing nothing that we cannot prove with our own efforts. It doesn’t mean that we go verifying anything and wasting our precious time; it means we accept we cannot verify something on our own, and therefore, we don’t assume external verification as an absolute truth, leaving room for revisiting any piece of knowledge with the source isn’t from our own mind and derived from our brain power.
One of the most astonishing teachings from Buddha, the enlightened one, is believing no one or nothing we cannot observe and attain on our own. Understanding is the foundation of anything we build in life, and therefore, there’s no room for considering beliefs as absolute truths. As a consequence, the more we get influenced by nothing or no one, the easier it’s to see the truth before us, segregating reality from illusions we’ve contact with in the environment we’re inserted into.
The hard part is the astonishing outcome of our training and evolutionary path: keeping consciousness at hand even when we know the truth yet the truth isn’t what gets to be seen through the lens of naked eyes.
Let’s keep training, getting stronger, being more resilient, and accepting nothing aside from our love nature. And most importantly, if we need to deal with a problem before us, it must be dealt with on our own, using all our mind and physical power to solve and end it in a conscious and meaningful way.
