One simple yet fundamental question we always need to include within anything we do is: “why?”. The importance of that question is either to realise we need to acquire more knowledge than we already have of a given subject, or to check the understanding of the subject we’re working on in the present moment. If we start using that question properly, we would’ve a much happier path, no matter the challenges, difficulties, or situations we may face during our journey. We would be able to enjoy life from a solid and resilient foundation, understanding we may not have all the answers but we’ve the suitable motivation for seeking them through time. Such a motivation makes all the difference from the perspective of being conscious of our own progress instead of being seduced by a regressive path dressed as the luxury and illusions we’ve contact with in the environment we’re inserted into. The more we realise that, the better we understand how important the “why” is for our own evolutionary path.
Evolution or regression? What is happening within our own perspective and relativity? Could we find out and be aware of that? The definition of progress is crystal clear, and it’s tightly connected with the evolution of the universe itself, which includes the evolution of our planet and all its living species all together. Thus, let’s try to find out—from a broader perspective—if we’re either making progress or stepping into a regressive path as a society. Is the environment we live in getting better in the sense that all species have more suitable conditions to live in than they had in the past? Is the air we breathe in better than in the past? Or are we adapted to a more polluted environment than the one our ancestors were living in? Are natural resources infinite? Or do we need to find ways for renewing and regrowing anything we take off from the land?
The tough questions are always representing a source of great wisdom and understanding of our own existence. Let’s never forget that while performing our body and mind training, and being conscious of walking the path towards a meaningful life.
