Corruption is indeed an extremely difficult problem to deal with, mainly because it goes into the roots of what we know about our own existence. In a society where appearances are more important than anything else, money gets highlighted as a replacement for knowledge, which is a consequence of an illusory-based mindset the majority of us get brainwashed with. It’s simple as that: if corruption is strong and we don’t cope with it, we get prosecuted. However, if we get corrupted we must do anything we get a request for, which may imply doing things against our own will, and more disgusting, things deteriorating the values we find essential to promote a meaningful way of life. Thus, at the end, the threat we deal with is the same from a different perspective: (a) remaining uncorrupted makes us totally conscious since the beginning of the type of dishonoured, dishonest, and deceptive behaviours we would be facing; or (b) being corrupted implies getting humiliated by someone dishonoured, dishonest, and deceptive, implying periods of suffering attached to a huge desire to do the same with another, and therefore, destroying the beauty of humanity, which is based on love and compassion for the self and others. The good news is that when we decide to face darkness, we’re the rulers of our own mind; otherwise, we become puppets in the hands of someone who believes being a member of a superior race, granting themselves the rights to rule others and enforcing their awful desires no matter the circumstances.

It’s crystal clear that sooner or later we find out that disregarding knowledge because of money will not get rid of obnoxious behaviours we need to deal with while living our own life. It may present an illusion that it does but in fact it doesn’t. If we get corrupted, there’s always someone who’ll attempt to enforce ``their superiority’’ on a person considered inferior, making that person enrol into submissive roles. We just need to look back in history to understand such a mindset is as ancient as the notion of society itself.

When we start thinking a bit more about the reasons why people step into huge periods of suffering and do awful things, which includes committing suicide, and we perform a correlation with this dishonoured, dishonest, and deceptive behaviours we need to deal with in a daily basis, we start understanding that our personality and way of life are characterised by the choices we make while deciding facing or getting corrupted by darkness itself. It’s a hard truth we need to realise and understand on our own.

Let’s try not to be corrupted. And if it happens, let’s step out of it as soon as we get conscious of such a corrupted state. May the light and love be with all of you!
